Barcelona's commercial filming permit process is more involved than Madrid's. The Ajuntament de Barcelona has specific requirements per neighbourhood, specific days and times when filming is restricted, and a process that rewards experience over optimism. That's not a reason to avoid it — it's a reason to work with someone who's done it before.
The city is genuinely one of the most visually striking in Europe. The Modernista architecture, the grid of Eixample, the contrast between the old city and the waterfront — it all works on camera in a way that's hard to replicate anywhere else.
Book Early
Barcelona permits need lead time. Ideally 2–3 weeks minimum for city-centre locations. We'll tell you early if something isn't viable.
